4 Star Regional Industrial Park Overview

The West Kentucky Regional Industrial Park is a new concept developed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, designed to diversify the job opportunities in the area.  The 650+ acre park, located 18 miles south of Henderson, KY, benefits a coalition of counties including Henderson, Union, Webster, and McLean.  The Commonwealth of Kentucky has prepared the infrastructure for industrial development, making the West Kentucky Regional Industrial Park an ideal site for companies considering expansion in the Bluegrass State.

The Regional Industrial Park Program is funded through the Local Government Economic Development Fund (LGEDF) from revenue collected through coal severance taxes.  Five parks have been established in strategic locations across the state, with the West Kentucky Park being the first to receive funding.  Each of the four counties that make up the West Kentucky Regional Industrial Park share in the tax revenues generated by the park.  The general idea is to create large blocks of available, accessible, marketable industrial land in an economical way without regard to county boundaries that will result in greater development and more job opportunities for all Kentuckians.
